HANJIU Technology Helps You Extend the Service Life of Orbital Hydraulic Motors

2026-03-21

As a core actuator in hydraulic transmission systems, the service life of an orbital hydraulic motor depends not only on manufacturing quality but also closely on daily use and maintenance. HANJIU Technology has been dedicated to the field of fluid power for many years and understands that the choice of oil, cleanliness of filtration, and load matching are three key factors that decisively affect motor life. The following professional recommendations will help your equipment operate reliably and stably over the long term.

Choosing the right oil is the primary foundation for extending service life. The ideal performance and service life of an orbital hydraulic motor largely depend on the hydraulic oil selected. Viscosity is one of the most important performance indicators. The oil must be fluid enough to flow easily, yet thick enough to provide effective sealing, maintaining a stable lubrication film between bearings and sealing surfaces. Oil temperature directly affects viscosity: when oil temperature rises, the oil thins and viscosity decreases; conversely, when oil temperature drops, viscosity increases. HANJIU Technology recommends using ISO VG 68 anti-wear hydraulic oil, with a working viscosity not less than 13 cSt. The maximum operating oil temperature should be kept below 80°C, with a normal temperature range of 30°C to 60°C. Selecting hydraulic oil that meets standards is the basic prerequisite for ensuring long-term operation of the motor's precision internal components.

Oil cleanliness is a key safeguard for reliable operation. The cleanliness of the hydraulic system oil is critical, as impurities can significantly wear down cycloidal gears and seals, shortening the life of the orbital hydraulic motor. HANJIU Technology recommends that oil cleanliness meet the ISO 18/13 standard, meaning fewer than 2,500 particles larger than 5 microns per milliliter of oil. In practical applications, a filter with a precision of no less than 30 microns should be installed on the return line. Regularly replace the hydraulic oil and clean the oil pipeline to prevent impurities and dirt from causing blockages. The first oil change and filter cleaning should be performed approximately after 200 hours of motor operation, and thereafter, oil changes should be conducted regularly according to equipment requirements. Connecting an external oil drain helps maintain lower backpressure, removes wear debris generated inside the motor, and provides a cooling effect.Load matching is the core principle for preventing premature damage. The use of an orbital hydraulic motor requires strict adherence to parameter matching principles. The motor should not be operated at maximum speed and maximum pressure simultaneously. Under intermittent operating conditions, the motor’s running time per minute should not exceed 10%. Before running at full load, the motor should undergo a sufficient break-in period, recommended to be more than 1 hour at 30% to 40% of the maximum operating pressure. The radial load on the motor output shaft should not exceed the specified value, as this will affect the motor’s reliability and shorten its service life. Attention should also be paid to back pressure control, with a recommended maximum back pressure of 5 MPa; if exceeded, an external oil return line should be used to ensure the motor is always fully filled with oil.

All series of orbital hydraulic motors launched by HANJIU Technology come with detailed technical data and usage guides. The company, relying on advanced manufacturing and testing equipment, carries out strict performance tests on each product. HANJIU not only provides reliable standard products but can also offer customized services according to the specific needs of different equipment manufacturers, along with professional technical consulting and after-sales support. Choosing HANJIU means choosing reliable assurance throughout the entire product lifecycle.
